open, food, drinks, vendors, mingling Director: Ruslan Horovyi "Just Below
the Sky" is a powerful documentary about the defenders of the Donetsk
Airport, known as the "cyborgs." The film delves into the events of
2014, which have been insufficiently covered due to the airport's isolation
and near-complete encirclement by enemy forces. Featuring archival
footage of the battles for the Donetsk Airport and interviews with witnesses,
the film tells four compelling stories of the cyborgs - brave defenders who
faced unimaginable horrors to ensure a Free and Independent Ukraine .
The film also includes heartfelt recollections from surviving cyborgs and
family members about their fallen comrades, capturing their last
conversations, prayers, and wishes. Admission: Donations

is a region in Eastern Ukraine that is currently recognized worldwide due to
the fierce war with Russia. Not everyone is
aware that at the end of the 19th century, Donbas was the center of Belgian,
German, French, British, and American settlements. This region housed
entrepreneurs from different countries who built architecture, enterprises;
and introduced progressive technologies to this region. After the
revolution of 1917 and the USSR's rise to power, factories and private
property were taken from the European and North American settlers, destroying
the memory of European history there. https://www.facebook.com/eurodonbasdocumentary https://www.instagram.com/eurodonbas.documentary?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA%3D%3D Admission: We kindly encourage a donation of $20 for admission (cash/Venmo/PayPal/Zelle)

for a Moving Evening Commemorating Two Years of Ukraine's Resilience. You
will have a unique chance to preview a very special film project supported by
Nova Ukraine – a documentary filmed and made in Ukraine by Kyiv-based film
director Iryna Pravylo. “Awoken
by War” is a film about the human side of war right after the de-occupation
of Kyiv region (Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin, Borodyanka, etc). An honest portrait
of the Ukrainians living through the shared trauma of the Russian invasion
and its aftermath. We get to know them, get to hear what’s on their mind,
follow them in church, at home, inside the trenches and an armored vehicle,
behind the artist’s canvas. This story sheds light and seeds hope as we
continue to be the witness of the largest war conflict in Europe since WWII. After
the movie materials preview, film’s co-producer Yulia Zimmermann will share
some insights on the journey of making an artistic documentary in the
conditions of ongoing atrocities of russian attack on Ukraine; importance of
the cinema nurturing the empathy; Nova Ukraine’s road map for supporting
Ukrainian cinema as the way to share the truth, inspire people to continue
supporting Ukraine, giving a chance to independent filmmakers in Ukraine. The
evening will culminate in a Panel Discussion. Note:
The film is presented in Ukrainian with English subtitles. Be
part of this enlightening journey. Support Ukraine, Support Ukrainian Cinema. Friday, February 16, 2024:

Independence Day is celebrated on November 11 as on that day in 1918, Poland
regained independence after 123 years of being divided between Prussia,
Russia and Austro-Hungary. But
even though it was so long ago, you can still see the impact of the imperial
borders on the maps (and therefore, the society) of Poland. Joining us will be Szymon Pifczyk of the popular
Polish map blog Kartografia ekstremalna
who will show us how the legacy of the partitioners still impacts Poland
today. Sunday, October 22, 2023: 2 PM Kim will be facilitating an Ancestral Healing workshop in the Mission
